Steady Increment · Android

It tells you what to lift next.

Every other lifting app is a place to write down what you did. Steady Increment tells you what to do — and it can only ever ask for a weight your gym can physically make. Open it, log the set, close it.

Free to install, and free forever as a log. Works with no signal and no account. If you want the engine, you buy it once.

The logging screen: one exercise at a time, with the coach explaining why the weight went up. A recommendation snapped to the plates the gym actually has. Ranked alternative exercises when the machine is taken. A looping demo clip for an exercise, one tap away mid-set.

A recommendation you can actually load.

Plenty of apps will suggest a number. The number is usually useless, because it is arithmetic rather than a weight: 187.5 lb on a machine whose stack moves in tens, or 200 lb on a rack that only has 45s and 25s left on it.

Steady Increment models the equipment. It knows the bar, the plates you actually have, and each machine’s own smallest jump — which it works out from your log rather than asking you. Then it snaps every recommendation onto something that exists. On that half-stripped rack it will ask for 195, because three 25s a side is reachable and 200 is not.

It also knows when a lift has stopped moving, and says which of the three things to do about it rather than leaving you to notice. That is the difference between a log and an engine.

Built for the gym you actually train in.

Your gyms, separately

More than one gym, each with its own equipment, its own plates and its own increments. Per-machine memory for seat height, pad and pin — and a ceiling, so it never recommends 280 on a machine that stops at 275.

1,166 exercises, 946 with a looping demo clip

Searchable by equipment, muscle or nickname — “pec deck” finds Chest Flys. The clip is one tap away mid-set, at the machine.

Machine cardio, at parity

Treadmill, bike, rower, stair and elliptical each get their own progression, their own intervals and their own console units — not a text box labelled “cardio”. No GPS, no outdoor running; this is an app for the gym floor.

Where you stand

Strength standards across 70+ movements, from published tables rather than bodyweight multiples — because a sled leg press is a very different lift at 110 lb bodyweight than at 290.

Train together, apart

Couple mode shows your partner’s sessions set by set, and never mixes them into your own history.

17 ready-made programs

Full body, upper/lower, push/pull/legs, machines only, bodyweight — or build your own week.

It cannot make up a weight.

Every number in this app comes from a deterministic engine running on your phone. The coach reads those numbers and tells you what it makes of them — what moved, what stalled, what to do next session. It is included when you buy the app.

There is no field in which a language model could put a weight. That is a structural guarantee rather than a promise: the model is handed the engine’s output and asked for judgement, so a recommendation is always reproducible and never invented.

If you want the coach to be a language model rather than the built-in one, that is a separate $4.99 a month, and it is optional. It is charged monthly because it costs us every month. Everything else is a one-off. Offline, it says so and answers from the engine.

You buy it once.

 PriceWhat you get
Free $0, forever An honest log: unlimited custom exercises, your full history and a chart for every lift, the whole exercise library, one active plan, and a fact after every set.
Lifetime $59.99 once The engine, forever — recommendations, increment snapping, stall detection, readiness, standards, multiple gyms, couple mode, the reports, and the built-in coach. Nothing renews.
AI Coach $4.99 / month Optional. Upgrades the coach to a language model that reads your session.

Your first ten sessions include the whole engine, free. Not ten days — ten sessions, because an engine with no history to work from is not yet the product, and a clock would run out before you had seen it work.

$59.99 is the founding price. Three things are never behind any tier, on any plan: reading your own log, exporting all of it, and logging a set. An app that holds your training history hostage is an app nobody should trust.

Anything it is not sure about it asks you about once, rather than guessing. How switching works →

On your phone, and yours to take.

The database on your phone is the source of truth, not a cache. Every screen reads from it, which is why the whole app works in a basement with no signal. You can start using it without making an account at all.

Export everything to CSV or JSON whenever you like, free, forever. Progress photos never leave the device. There is no third-party analytics in the app. If you delete your account, the server copy goes first, and the app refuses to finish if that fails.
